If you are interested in making money from home for whatever reason (maybe you are a stay at home mom, entrepreneur that hates to work for other people/companies, looking for extra spending money, etc.) then you must weed through the millions of “get rich quick” schemes to find something that you enjoy doing. Finding something you are passionate about (or at least interested in) is a great starting point.

But wait… maybe you are saying “I don’t know what I want to do with my life, or “what is my purpose?” Well that’s fine, because by the time you have read the information I am going to give in the next few pages, you will have found out the secret to finding your purpose & fulfilling your dreams in your lifetime.

But before you get swept up in any “I make $100,000/month” stories, just remember these 2 key facts about making money from home:

1) You will usually get out of it what you put into it (you reap what you sow).

2) Everything requires some work. The key is finding something you like doing (or at least can tolerate on a daily basis). This way, if feels a lot less like work & you will begin to develop a passion for doing whatever it is you do. The more you enjoy what you do, the more successful you will likely become.
Now, lets start slowly here with a short list of the most talked about ways you can make money online from home.

Best Ways to Make Money from Home

1) Buy & Resell Tangible Products- This method involves buying products at a low price (typically from wholesale companies), and reselling them online for a profit. This can be a great way to make the big bucks. To do this, you will usually need to start a business, obtain a resale certificate, & locate products for resale from suppliers. Then you simply sell the products for a profit on either an online site (such as eBay, Amazon, etc.) or develop your own website & market it.

Pros:

* Potential to make a lot of money
* Can be very exciting/rewarding
* Can be easily managed by one perso
n when starting out
* Could start to see profits as soon as products start to sell.

Cons:

* Prepare to learn difficult things such as how to find suppliers, products that will sell, learn shipping rates, dealing with potential fraud from customers, etc.
* Also requires capital up front, and additional skills such as making auction listings and/or websites, sales, marketing, etc.
* High amount of competition online

2) Buy & Sell Digital Products or Services- With this method of making money you will usually have to create your own digital products or buy digital product resale rights. Some popular digital products you can sell include: e-Books, Software/Scripts, Domain Names, Websites, and just about anything else you can imagine. This can be a very profitable way to make money, but again it will take a lot of work & creativity on your part.

Pros:

* Relatively low or no upfront costs.
* Potential to earn a lot of money
* Can easily be managed by one person
* No shipping items

Cons:

* Could take time (weeks or months) to develop your own digital products and/or make profits
* Requires skills in marketing, sales, websites, etc.
* Will also take time to build affiliate relationships, email lists etc.
* Definitely some competition out there

3) Join an Affiliate Program- There are tons of online affiliate programs out there such as Commission Junction, Clickbank, etc. The idea here is that instead of worrying about selling your own items, you sell items for other people and make a hefty commission. This can also be a great way to make money & some people prefer doing this instead of dealing with products themselves.

Pros:

* Usually no upfront costs.
* Potential to earn a lot of money
* Can easily be managed by one person
* Many affiliate programs to choose from with different commission structures

Cons:

* Could take time (weeks or months or even a year) to make a reasonable income
* Requires skills in marketing, sales, websites, etc.
* Will also take time to build affiliate relationships, email lists etc.
* Lots of competition

4) Develop a Website- These days, it is easier & more affordable than ever before to develop a simple website. An initial investment of less than $10 & a little hard work is usually all it takes. But how can you make money with a website? Well, you can use it to sell products or promote affiliate programs as mentioned earlier, or you can sell advertising space on it. There are lots of Pay Per Click advertising programs that pay you based on clicks. This can be another great way to make money from home.

Pros:

* Can easily be managed by one person
* Very low startup costs
* Less complicated than shipping products and/or dealing with customers
* Relatively easy to do
* Could earn a potentially high income if the website becomes popular

Cons:

* Will require knowledge on building a simple website and possibly a website design software
* Will take time to build reasonable traffic ratings
* Could take as long as 1- 2 years to make a good steady income
* Will require an interest in writing topics

5) Taking Surveys Online- Another way to make some extra cash online is by taking surveys. But beware, many so-called online survey sites are scams. One site I know of that was actually legitimate was a site called opinionplace.com. It was through AOL (America Online) and they gave you up to $10/month to take a survey. You don’t even have to be an AOL member, but you do have to place a credit card on file with AOL ( and they give you the money as a credit). Of course, the downside with online surveys is that most are scams, and any legitimate surveys are likely to only net you a few extra bucks for your time wasted. So even though you can make money with this idea, I wouldn’t focus on it too much.

Pros:

* Very low startup costs
* Relatively easy to do
* No special skills needed

Cons:

* Very hard to find legitimate websites
* Very time consuming
* You would be lucky to earn even $200/ month

Now that I have briefly mentioned a few of the top ways to make money online, how you can figure out which method can give you personal fulfillment/purpose, the skills necessary to succeed, and some tips of coming up with that business plan & getting the necessary licenses?
